THE “MAKE YOUR SMARTPHONE SIMPLE” APP

It's time to make countless apps, confusing menu navigation and fonts that are far too small a thing of the past! The “Make your smartphone simple” app is a special user interface which transforms a conventional Android smartphone into a smartphone that is easy to use and understand. The most important functions, such as the telephone, camera and Internet, are always available on the first screen you look at, while a large font and clear icons make your smartphone more intuitive.

How the emporiaAPPmakes your smartphone simpler:

  • Good legibility, a high-contrast font, and a clear colour and design language
  • Large icons and buttons
  • Simple structure of the three main screens: home screen, personal screen and app screen
  • Facilitates usability: no erroneous moving or deleting of apps
  • Simple overview of settings

emporiaAPP FAQ

Q:Which mobile phones is the emporiaAPP compatible with?
A:

The emporiaAPP is compatible with any device that is running Android 4.4 or a later Android version and that has a screen size of at least 4". A list of all the models that have been optimised for the app is available on our website at www.emporia.eu/en/app

Q:Why does the emporiaAPP not work on iPhones?
A:

iPhones use another operating system (iOS) and the emporiaAPP is only compatible with Android. Due to a number of restrictions on the iOS operating system, it is not possible to install the app on an iPhone.

Q:What permissions do I need to grant when installing the app?
A:

You will be asked to grant access to the following during the installation process: the calendar, the camera, your contacts, your location, the microphone, your calls, your text messages and your phone's memory. As the emporiaAPP completely simplifies the way numerous apps are displayed, a number of permissions will be required here too. You will not be able to use the emporiaAPP to its full extent otherwise.

Q:For how long am I entitled to return the app package?
A:

In principle, you have 14 days to return the app if you want to. However, it can only be returned if your code for the app has not yet been redeemed or if the strip concealing the code has not yet been scratched off.

Q:Can I switch between the simple emporia interface and the standard Android interface?
A:

Yes, you can do this by changing the home screen. You'll find the settings for the home screen in the app settings. Details on how to switch between interfaces are provided in the step-by-step instructions.

Q:How long does it take to install the emporiaAPP?
A:

Installing the app and setting it up are two different things. Installation, which involves downloading the app and granting the permissions required to ensure the app/software works completely/perfectly takes approx. 5 min. The set-up process, which involves inputting basic settings (contacts' details, ringtone, etc.) will take approx. 15 min.

Q:How does the emergency call feature work in the emporiaAPP?
A:

The app's emergency call feature allows up to five stored numbers to be called one after the other. Unfortunately, official emergency numbers (112, 144, etc.) cannot be stored, as is normally the case with emporia devices. In addition, the DTMF function cannot be used, as the software cannot obtain the rights required for this from the hardware.

Details on how to store emergency numbers are provided in the step-by-step instructions.
